Cadets Earn Mitchel - Become Cadet Officers
Cadets Jacob and Jared Brown have completed a challenging and important milestone in the CAP Cadet Program--they have achieved the Mitchell Award. Both Cadets have now earned eight grade promotions, and have been invited to serve on Cadet Staff as Cadet Second Leiutenants.
The Mitchell Award is a significant achievement that is also recognized by the armed forces, with the Air Force providing three grade levels to those enlisting (one additional grade level more than the accomodation available to Eagle Scouts)
KCCS Officers and Cadets are proud of the achievements and contributions made by Cadet Jacob and Jared Brown, and look we forward to seeing them progress to the highest levels of the Cadet Program. Great job!
Spaatz Award Achieved by KCCS Cadet
KCCS Cadet Nate Chaverin has completed all the requirements for the coveted Spaatz Award, earning him the grade of Cadet Colonel. This achevement represents four years of effort, 18 grade promotions, and a comprehensive Spaatz test that included Aerospace History and Leadership tests, a Character Development essay, and a rigorous Physical Training test. The final portion of the tests were administered by USAF Lt. Col. Almeida at Whiteman Air Force Base.
The Spaatz Award is Civil Air Patrol's highest Cadet acheivement, earned by just fraction of one-percent of all cadets--just 1800 Cadets have made this grade since 1964.
Cadet Colonel Chaverin wants to thank all those who have supported his efforts in CAP, and will continue to strive to continue to help KCCS be the best squadron we can be.
